Design meets taste

Celebrated for its ‘technology with style’ ethos, Italian home appliance manufacturer Smeg has added a new series of fully automatic coffee machines to its range. Only 18 cm wide, with a brushed aluminium front and elegant, soft lines, these new bean-to-cup machines in a choice of four colours – Matt White, Matt Black, Red and Taupe – will cut a dashing figure in any kitchen.

Thanks to the continuously adjustable coarse/fine gradient of the stainless steel cone grinder, the thermoblock heating system and the 19-bar pump pressure, an optimal taste experience is assured. The dispenser is also height-adjustable, so even tall glasses for Latte Macchiato are easily accommodated. Both the brewing unit and the water tank are simple to remove for cleaning and maintenance.

The series comprises three models: the basic, fully automatic BCC01 can be used to make Ristretto, Espresso and Americano in its purest, jet black form – though a milder version is available on request. Also fully automatic, the model BCC02 is equipped with a stainless-steel steam nozzle that adds Cappuccino and Latte Macchiato to the repertoire. At the push of a button, the same dispenser will deliver hot water for tea or to preheat espresso cups. In Autumn, these two models (which are already available) will be joined by the premium BCC03, which will support the programming of up to five individual beverage profiles.
