Innovative recycled fabric
Textile editor Christian Fischbacher has won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2020 for the outdoor velour BENU® TALENT FR, which was introduced in 2019. The innovative collection ushers in a new generation of recycled fabrics, as 70 percent of the thread used is derived from used PET bottles. “Designed with sustainability as the paramount objective, the new velour is impressively variable and lends itself to a wide variety of applications,” commented the jury. The award-winning BENU® TALENT FR is weatherproof and light-resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The fabric is also flame-retardant and can be used in public spaces as well as hotels. The hard-wearing velour, which has a pleasantly plush feel to it, is available in 30 colours.
