The 50th Heimtextil

The Showcase Area in Hall 9.0 is where Heimtextil is presenting design classics from the past 50 editions of the fair. Visitors can embark on a journey of discovery through the past five decades of ­Heimtextil history. The staging is based on editorials from interior design magazines. Four rooms are packed with the colours, shapes, furniture and designer objects of the past decades. The area also features a café which is run in cooperation with Schöner Wohnen.

Hospitality EXPO is an ­exclusive platform within Heim­textil that addresses requirements of interior ­designers, architects and hospitality experts. Here you will find selected exhibitors and their offerings for textile contract furnishing: from textiles with acoustic functionality or special abrasion properties to sun protection and innovative wall coverings.

Design Dialog

The Design Dialog is where Heimtextil provides information on the most popular design trends for the furniture industry. Representatives from industry and designers exchange ideas with industry leaders and trend experts from Heimtextil.

Green Village

The Green Village provides a forum for exhibitors such as quality mark organisations and certification authorities. As part of the Green Tours, Max Gilgenmann, consultant for sustainable fashion and textiles, takes visitors to ­selected booths.

DecoTeam

New trend themes, a creative events programme with digital workshops, exciting panel discussions and prominent guests – DecoTeam presents the complete range for holistic home concepts and the highlights of the sector. For more information see page 38.

New & Next university competition

With the New & Next university competition, Heimtextil is targeting national and international universities that specialise in textile design and related courses of study. The winners of the competition will have their own booth at the New & Next exhibition in the Textile Design product area.

bdia Trendseminar

“A Common Reality” trend seminar with Astrid Schaal, Felix Diener and Martina Metzner in cooperation with bdia. What contribution can home textiles make in a world strongly affected by change? The trend and material workshop is devoted to the question of what potential textiles have in interior design for promoting networking and collective moments. The speakers, together with participants, not only discuss trends but also explain the functions of contract textiles. (Charges apply, pre-register, 8.1.2020 from 9:30 am to 5 pm)

Editeurs’ Area

The participating textile editeurs all come together in one hall, perfectly integrated in the product offering for interior designers, interior decorators and retailers. Around
50 international suppliers will present their collections for the coming season.

Textile Technology Talks

Valuable information about the latest technology and product developments is ­provided by the Textile Technology Talks lecture area which has been set up in the immediate vicinity of the exhibition space. In cooperation with established institutes and associations, Heimtextil invites participants to attend lectures and expert talks on all four days of the fair.

Printed Interior ­Decoration Lectures

In cooperation with ESMA (European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association) and Thomas Pötz, an internationally recognised expert in inkjet printing, Heimtextil is offering “Printed Interior Decoration Lectures”. Interior designers and contract planners will learn all about the latest printing technologies for home textiles.
