Looking ahead

Every year, designers at bora.herke.palmisano are commissioned by Messe Frankfurt to look into the future. Discernible developments in fashion, architecture and product and furniture design give rise to what’s influencing the paper, office supplies and stationery industry of tomorrow – next season’s trends.

Blazing Hotchpotch – anything is possible

A bold mix of styles, colours and options. Vibrant designs and colours are combined with one another – patchwork, graphic surfaces, colour blocking and dazzling kaleidoscopic colour effects dominate this trend. The designs and colours keep things fresh, dynamic and expressive with a focus on concepts for cooperative interaction in offices, customisable co-working spaces and office-to-go solutions. This energy is also reflected in the materials which are either recycled or made from alternative sources.

Smooth Sorbet – finding peace and harmony

This trend follows the desire for greater peace and relaxation. Smooth Sorbet is characterised by soft shapes and delicate colours. Technology and lifestyle come together in reduced aesthetics. Pastel shades and pleasant surfaces are blended to create an inspiring living and working environment. Floral designs and hazy colour transitions underline the lightness of touch. This includes accessories such as fine writing instruments, the feel of selected stationery and textiles for office design.

Noble Barrique – striving for perfection

This trend world focuses on premium, functional and durable products with clever details. Minimalism in the style of Bauhaus is combined with elegance and modernity. Exquisite materials are closely interlinked with sophisticated design of exceptional quality and refinement. The materials and colours are characterised by nature, with the look and feel dominated by wood, natural stone and leather. Everything is durable and timeless – including desk accessories, writing instruments and notebooks.
