post-1-image1.jpg

Heimtextil is celebrating a milestone anniversary. This year, the trade fair for the global home textile industry is taking place for the 50th time. With a huge anniversary party, a showcase presenting design classics from past decades and various other activities, Heimtextil will be reviewing the last half century since its inauguration back in 1971.

“50 fairs over the course of five decades is a rare phenomenon in the fast-moving global trade fair industry, and represents almost an eternity”, said Detlef Braun, CEO of Messe Frankfurt. “Like virtually no other fair, Heimtextil stands for product variety, international clout and undisputed market leadership in the textile sector. As a design show, it has constantly reinvented itself, continues to present state-of-the-art home trends and makes the furnishing trends of tomorrow tangible.”The Showcase Area In Hall 9.0 is where Heimtextil is presenting design classics from its past 50 editions. Visitors can journey through the past five decades of Heimtextil history. The staging is based on editorials from interior design magazines. Four rooms are packed with the colours, shapes, furniture and designer objects of the past decades. The area also features a café in cooperation with Schöner Wohnen magazine. To mark the anniversary, Heimtextil has created a textile accessory of its own – a scarf with a motif based on the current trade fair campaign. The scarf in the unisex colour combination of petrol, turquoise and lilac will be available for exhibitors and visitors to buy during the trade fair.

This graphic shows the enormous expansion of Heimtextil over the years in all sectors, including number of exhibitors and visitors, international appeal and exhibition space.
